The next meeting of the Story County Amateur Radio Club will be Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be in Conference Room D next to Bessie Meyers Auditorium on the first floor of Mary Greeley Medical Center (MGMC). The closest parking is in the lot north of the ER and ambulance garage. Enter through the North Door where MGMC meets McFarland Clinic.
The program will be presented by AG3V. Arnold will provide an overview of digital modes with an emphasis on three commonly used modes, RTTY, PSK31, and MFSK16. The talk will be organized around the various ways that digital signals are encoded (frequency shift, multiple frequency shift, and phase shift keying). Arnold will also mention other modes like JT65 during the presentation and indicate their advantages and disadvantages. There will also be information on how to set up your station to use digital modes and commonly used software used to transmit digital modes.
